If you're like me, you're ready for the chill of winter to fade and are ready for hot days and balmy nights. I'm looking forward to the soft colors of the spring season and all the fresh newness that it brings with it.
This year, there will be an "extra" new at the VIBE Agency, as I will welcome a new little soul into our family. I'm excited and looking forward to reliving the sights and sounds of the world from such an innocent and unmarred perspective. Wish me luck!
As for my second child, the events world, I always look to spring with excitement because the color palette is so exclusive and playful. This year, strong, clean, bold lines softened with the colors of mint, champagne and soft pinks are all the rage. They always remind me of blissful and peaceful moments filled with appreciation of beauty and create simply sophisticated settings for events and celebrations.
I'm loving the new trends this year, with the color blocking and clean lines standing in contrast to the simplicity of "found items" that I see so many people leaning towards. Personal touches have always been an important reflection in an event, whether it's through innovative messaging for a corporate or creating an individual touch of personality within a social event. This trend really feeds my creativity.
So as we look toward spring...focus on the things that nourish your creativity and make it come to life. If you need ideas, we're right here and ready to help you create something that will fit you and your needs perfectly.

VIBE EVENT SPOTLIGHT: SAN FRANCISCO
|
The perfect hotel for them was the Nikko San Francisco known for it's central location in the city and the proximity to great local gastronomy.
What would a trip to San Fran be without a waterfront experience and for the first night guests headed to McCormick's for a extravaganza of fresh seafood selections.
The next day it was off to Napa Valley for a tour of the Robert Mondavi winery, and a delicious light fare lunch. That evening it was dinner at the famous upscale Burger Bar owned and managed by Michelin Chef Hubert Keller complete with a gourmet milk shake demonstration.
Tours of the city via motorized cable cars to see the world famous Golden Gate Bridge, Twin Peaks, Casto and magnificent waterfront views ending with a lunch cruise out on the San Francisco Bay in a private luxury yacht.
To close out the days of their West Coast adventure, a private gala dinner at Opus One and an exclusive after party in the Fusion Lounge rounded out a productive and fun trip.

If you missed them at 2012 TSE in Tampa in January - you missed OUT! This band absolutely rocked the special events industry at the Welcome Night Party! When a room full event professionals are face forward and groovin' to the rhythms there's something super amazing going on. And, Professor D kept the industry's attention all night long! They are without a doubt one of the best party bands in America!
Fronted by two incredible and charismatic lead vocalists and backed by monster musicians including the V-Posse Horns, this is not just a cover band... it's a SHOW! An exhilarating, personality-filled, audience-participation-heavy, dance till you drop, in-your-face, non-stop SHOW! Professor D built their early reputation on horn-heavy disco and R&B but then - over the last 10 years - they've added nearly everything to their repertoire from Rock to current Top 40, '80s favorites, Motown, and have also perfected some brilliant song smashups to boot.

FEBRUARY HAPPENINGS AND HOLIDAYS !

The long days of winter are almost over, and there's fun celebrations sitting right over the horizon. While Valentine's Day or Single Awareness Day (depending on your status) is past, there are plenty more holidays on its heels for all you celebration experts out there. Start planning now to pick one or two and turn them into signature events for the year. Hoodie-Hoo is probably looking good to those of you that have been enduring the snow and cold temperatures. Are you ready for a little spring? Then it's time for a Hoodie-Hoo Party! Read on to find out exactly what Hoodie-Hoo Day is if you don't know. We think any Hoodie-Hoo celebration probably calls for some kind of alcoholic beverage! (thanks to www.marthastewart.com we have a great one for you).
Blackberry Mint Julep
Like the original, this julep features bourbon infused with mint. But this drink's signature sweetness is tempered by the tartness of blackberries, which also tints it a gorgeous shade of purple. It's time to start thinking in color again.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup packed fresh mint leaves
- 1 pint blackberries
- 6 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 cup bourbon
- 4 cups small ice cubes
- 4 sprigs mint, for garnishing
Directions
Roughly chop mint leaves. Puree the mint, blackberries, and sugar in a blender. Press through a fine sieve into a bowl; discard seeds. Rinse blender, then return puree to blender, and add bourbon and small ice cubes; blend until smooth. Divide mixture among 4 glasses. If it needs thinning, add a dash of soda water. Garnish each with a mint sprig.
- 20 Hoodie-Hoo Day: On this winter day, people go out at noon, wave their hands over their heads and chant "Hoodie-Hoo"! It is a day to chase away winter and bring in spring. After all, everyone in the northern hemisphere are sick and tired of winter at this point and a little crazy being cooped up inside all winter and not seeing the sun.
