Most often, people think of events as very human-centric. After all, it’s about people coming together to share in an experience, right? It also typically takes a highly experienced and responsive team behind the scenes to make sure it all gets executed to perfection.

Evolutions in technology, however, are bringing AI (artificial intelligence) solutions to the event realm, both simplifying the organization of gatherings as well as enhancing the overall guest experience.

Pre-event registration and guest service can now largely be handled by chatbots or digital voice assistants (think Siri or Ok Google, but customized for your event). What used to take several employees to manage questions can now be done by a smaller team, allowing others to focus on different event details.

Upon arrival at the event, AI screens can use facial recognition technology to welcome and check-in guests, and even print name tags with a connected printer, if desired.

Many devices can also be equipped with temperature scanners that direct the guest to stand at the correct distance while their temperature is taken with an infrared no-touch scanner.

Food & Beverage can be tailored to ultimate precision with online pre-ordering days ahead of the event and grab-and-go service that day or evening. Guests get exactly what they wanted, complete with reasonable special requests like “dressing on the side” – and organizers don’t need as many wait-staff on hand.

For networking and meet and greet opportunities, AI provides perfect introduction. Facial recognition can bring up profiles guests created during registration that can be easily shared via mobile devices.

Get creative with profile set-ups and ask things like favorite food, bucket-list vacation destinations, or weird talents… and then AI can really go to work and match up people with similar interests, backgrounds, or shared skill sets to help attendees find people they’ll enjoy spending time with.

In the future, who knows what AI might bring – perhaps digital AI DJs who use crowd activity level to evaluate how much guests are enjoying the music and when it might be time to switch things up. Digital parking technologies might allow guests to redeem, pay, and request their vehicles all from their phones rather than waiting in a line outside.

AI tour guides could lead guests through a new condominium or resort property, providing interesting tidbits of knowledge along the way and even answering live Q&As. The possibilities are endless, but many of them are already available today. Let us know how we can leverage AI for you!
