Corporate event planners seeking to foster connections and inspire productivity in 2026 should view destinations as more than a backdrop for incentive trips and meetings.

Your events will have greater purpose and meaning for attendees long after they return to work if they are designed to create an immersive experience

In the case of destinations, this means weaving the host city’s culture and history into your program through a legacy project or CSR activity that leaves a positive impact on the community.

A simple beach trip and cleanup won’t do it though. Attendees are seeking new experiences and planners can provide them by choosing off-the-radar and emerging destinations.

“It’s not about picking a pretty place. It’s about choosing a setting that will amplify your attendees’ performance,” says VIBE Founder Valérie Bihet.

Here are some of VIBE’s recommendations of places in various regions around the world to host incentives and meetings in 2026.

Region 1: Asia

A trip to Asian destinations may be a long one for Americans, but is well worth it. The experiences are breathtaking and prices are more affordable than what planners will find elsewhere.

Japan

Tokyo and Kyoto in particular are trending picks for incentives. Both timeless cities offer luxury, culture, precision, and unique experiences.

At an event VIBE produced last year, attendees enjoyed tuna auctions, chef masterclasses, and robotics labs. The activities help build teamwork, spark innovation, and deliver memories.

India

By virtue of its vast size, India has a variety of experiences attendees can enjoy within days of each other.

There are vast cities like Mumbai and Delhi, as well as beaches, deserts, and mountains. Each destination provides a feast for the senses, from the famous food and tea to regular fireworks displays. Castles and forts converted into unique venues add to the appeal. “Luxury is strong in India; it’s booming,” says Valérie.

Region 2: Europe

Traditional favorites like London and Paris are popular, but 2026 is the year to venture to equally enriching destinations attendees have perhaps not yet visited. “Europe is a sweet spot because of its strong infrastructure and short transfers between countries,” Valérie explains.

Scotland

On top of VIBE’s wish list for 2026 is Edinburgh for its dramatic, hilly scenery that will make attendees feel like they are in “Braveheart.” Its accessibility via plane or train while still offering the safety planners need to provide groups makes it an ideal choice for corporate leadership retreats and incentives.

Croatia

Europeans have long enjoyed the rich culture and unique, rocky beaches in Croatia.

Valerie explains that “New airline routes are now making it easier for Americans to explore this well-kept secret, making 2026 the year to explore there.”

By heading to an emerging destination, you’ll be able to provide a culturally rich experience without being overrun by tourists. Check out Dubrovnik in southern Croatia if a seaside event is on your radar.

Region 3: Mexico and South America

Destinations with Latin American roots are a close flight from many U.S. cities, and their vibrant culture and rich history make an event stand out from a traditional meeting.

Colombia

Colombia has much new hotel development that has made it an increasingly popular destination. Like India it has a mix of coastlines, mountains, and metropolitan cities to explore depending on your meeting’s objectives.

VIBE recently created an immersive experience in historic Cartagena complete with a dinner at a patio courtyard backdropped by local musicians playing throughout the night. Attendees were able to enjoy the sensory experiences that showcased the country’s rich culture.

Mexico

Mexico is a popular vacation destination for Americans, but incentive trips can offer experiences attendees have yet to enjoy. VIBE helped French luxury goods company Hermès launch a new fragrance in Mexico’s beautiful Riviera Maya. The breathtaking scenery made an immediate good impression on attendees, who felt transported to another world.

Other events we’ve hosted in Mexico have included a stargazing dinner and have a marine biologist talking about reef protection.

Savannah Georgia historic downtown district with colorful buildings ideal for corporate events and meetings

Region 4: United States

As companies seek to differentiate 2026 incentives and meetings from years past, VIBE believes this will be the year of second-tier U.S. cities.

Scottsdale

This Phoenix suburb has a variety of experiences and scenery to enjoy. VIBE has incorporated Jeep desert tours and hot-air balloon rides to capture some of the distinctive views.

“You have nice rooftops in the old town and a lot of wellness programs that are great options for restorative activities that incentive winners will love,” Valérie explains.

Santa Fe

The rich arts scene and Native American culture make Santa Fe a great place to go on a sensory journey, something we at VIBE brings out the best in participants.

“The art in the galleries can spark a 40-minute conversation between executives that fosters connections and those lay the foundation for doing business,” Valérie says.

Savannah

At VIBE, we love the Southern culture and warm hospitality of Savannah, which has a strong collection of hotels and restaurants to treat your guests.

With attendees seeking new and authentic experiences, event planners should consider these destinations for their incentive trip or corporate meeting. VIBE is here to guide you on the journey to a memorable event.

Remember: the destination isn’t the backdrop; it is part of the strategy.
