On June 29, 2017, we had the pleasure of producing L’Oréal’s annual Travel Retail Information Meeting at the Coral Gables Country Club in Miami. The event, which L’Oréal has hosted for 40 years was designed to inspire employees through a teambuilding event, collaboration, humanitarian and social involvement, and company recognition. Judging by the smiles on guests’ faces, we’d say the event was a success and L’Oréal was more than pleased.
The afternoon started with a little caffeine to wake everybody up, then we dove right into two hours of meetings followed by two more hours of teambuilding. Employees were given the chance to connect with their coworkers, learn about the company’s mission and values, and take part one of the coolest teambuilding exercises to date – building guitars for kids.
To fit the event theme “The Way We Roll”, we came up for the second part with “The Way We Rock”. Employees were broken up into teams and used iPads to answer challenge questions, take pictures, videos, and earn points to get the tools needed to build the guitars. Two judges were present to decide between the creations, as the teams were working, and awarded a medal to the team with the most points.
The charity that employees were building the guitars for was the Boys & Girls Club of America. Once the instruments were built and the teams awarded, each child was brought into the room to pick out their very own hand-built guitar. By doing this, employees were able to see what smiles on the kids’ faces and understand the impact of their hard work and dedication.
L’Oréal isn’t just a company – it’s a company that is dedicated to the success of its employees and to creating a better world for everyone. This event brought the company’s values to life and allowed employees to connect on a deeper, more meaningful level.
